Interpretation – Even though resident evaluation of online activities is positive, face-to-face theoretical activities are still valued as a necessary complement for orthopedic residency education. Large diameter stents are more effective in ureteral drainage under EUO, in the presence of colloidal material in the fluid. Colloidal fluid may have a role in stent failure under EUO.Background Everyday technologies, such as laptops and tablets, are often used for enjoyment, pleasure, leisure and social participation. Despite this, whilst considerable research has investigated exploring people’s experiences of using assistive technologies, it is not clear how everyday technologies are experienced by individuals living with dementia. The aims of this review were to explore the experiences and views of people living with dementia and carers about using everyday technology to enhance their well-being and enjoyment, social engagement, participation and leisure as well as understand their views about the usability of everyday technology in dementia. Methods A systematic search of the literature was conducted using the electronic databases PsycINFO, PsycARTICLES, CINAHL Complete and EThOS. Five qualitative studies and five mixed-method studies were included and synthesised using a narrative approach. The methodological quality of the studies was assessed using the National Institute for Health .The human breast cancer resistance protein (BCRP), one of the members of the large ATP binding cassette (ABC) transporter superfamily, is crucial for resistance against chemotherapeutic agents. Currently, it has been emerged as one of the best biological targets for the designing of small molecule drugs capable of eliminating multidrug resistance in breast cancer. In order to gain insights into the relationship between the molecular structure of compounds and the ABCG2 inhibition, a multi-QSAR approach using different methods was performed on a dataset of 294 ABCG2 inhibitors with diverse scaffolds. The best models obtained by different chemometric methods have the following statistical characteristics Monte Carlo Optimization-based QSAR (sensitivity = 0.905, specificity = 0.6255, accuracy = 0.756, and MCC = 0.545), Bayesian classification model (sensitivity = 0.735, specificity = 0.775, and concordance = 0.757); structural and physicochemical interpretation analysis-random forest method (balance accuracy = 0.750, sensitivity = 0.810, and specificity = 0.700). Additionally, structural fingerprints modulating the ABCG2 inhibitory properties were identified from the best models of each method and also validated with each other. The current modelling study is an attempt to get a deep insight into the different important structural fingerprints modulating ABCG2 inhibition.Introduction Patients with high-grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSOC) have a poor prognosis, and current chemotherapy regimens for treating advanced disease are far from satisfactory. Prexasertib (LY2606368) is a novel checkpoint kinase inhibitor (CHK) under investigation for the treatment of HGSOC. Data from a recent phase II trial showed promising efficacy and safety results for treating wild-type BRCA HGSOC. Areas covered This article reviews the available data on the pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics, clinical efficacy, and safety of prexasertib in the treatment of HGSOC. Expert opinion Until now, prexasertib demonstrated clinical activity in phase I and II clinical trial for treating wild-type BRCA HGSOC, whereas its promising efficacy as monotherapy and combined with olaparib in BRCA-mutated HGSOC has been preliminary evidenced only in phase I studies. Compared to other drugs of the same class, prexasertib showed a better tolerability profile, causing moderate hematological toxicity. Further studies are needed to confirm efficacy and safety profiles of prexasertib in combined regimens. New early clinical trials may investigate prexasertib administered with programmed cell death ligand 1 (PD-L1) and PI3 K inhibitors due to the preclinical evidence of a synergic action.Introduction Teachers’ conceptions of learning and teaching (COLT) affect their teaching behaviour. The 18 item COLT instrument has been developed in the Netherlands and comprises three scales, ‘teacher centredness’, ‘appreciation of active learning’ and ‘orientation to professional practice’. Previously we found five teacher profiles. The aim of this study was to find out if the COLT instrument can be used in an international setting.Methods Data were collected with the web-based COLT. Cronbach’s alphas of the three COLT scales were calculated. Subsequently a cluster analysis was conducted to identify different teacher profiles, followed by a split half validation procedure.Results Respondents (n = 708) worked in 28 countries. Cronbach’s alphas were 0.67, 0.54, and 0.66. A six-cluster solution fitted best, based on meaning and explained variance. The sixth teacher profile scored high on ‘teacher centredness’, average on ‘appreciation of active learning’ and low on ‘orientation to professional practice’. The split half validation resulted in a Cohen’s kappa of 0.744.Discussion Cronbach’s alphas indicated acceptable reliablities for all three subscales. 680C91 The new, sixth profile was labelled ‘neo-transmitter’.Conclusion We found evidence supporting the validity of the use of COLT in an international context and identified a new, sixth teacher profile.Breast cancer accounts for a high burden among all the neoplasms in Latin America, with more-advanced stages at presentation, which could result in high mortality rates. The 4th International Consensus Conference for Advanced Breast Cancer (ABC4) is focused on standardizing therapy for advanced breast cancer (ABC) and has held 5 meetings so far. ABC4 took place in Lisbon, Portugal, from November 2 to 4, 2017; however, the first Latin American ABC conference was held in Lima, Peru, from 18 to 19 May, 2018, chaired by Fatima Cardoso, MD, PhD. During these 2 days, the ABC4 consensus recommendations for advanced and locally advanced breast cancer were presented. Local treatment and systemic therapy were discussed with local experts, mainly focusing on anti-human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 therapy and newly approved drugs for hormone receptor-positive breast cancer, such as as CDK4/6, mammalian target of rapamycin, and poly (ADP-ribose) polymerase inhibitors for triple-negative breast cancer. The discussion focused additionally on access to drugs and ABC4 consensus recommendations as regards Latin American patients.
