Pueraria lobata (Wild.) Ohwi. (P. lobata) flowers known as ‘Kudzu flower’ contain isoflavonoids and essential oil components. They have a wide range of biological and pharmacological activities, including protective effects against non-alcoholic fatty liver disease, hyperglycemia, and hypolipidemia, anti-mutagenic effects, and benefits for weight loss. However, the molecular mechanism of these effects remains unclear. Our study aimed to systematically examine the effects of flos puerariae crude extract (FPE) as an anti-diabetic agent using in vitro assays. The cytotoxicity of FPE was evaluated using MTS assay in L6 rat myocyte and 3T3-L1 murine fibroblast cell lines. PPARγ binding activity and adipogenesis were examined using dual-luciferase and differentiation assays, respectively. For investigating the anti-diabetic activity, glucose utilization, including GLUT4 protein expression, glucose uptake assay, and GLUT4 translocation using immunofluorescence microscopy were conducted in L6 cells. Furthermore, we assessed the antioxidant and anti-inflammatory activities of FPE. Our results demonstrated the ability to augment glucose uptake in L6 cells and enhance glucose utilization activity by increasing the expression of glucose transporter type 4 (GLUT4). In summary, our findings suggest that FPE may be a potential anti-diabetic substance for the treatment of diabetic patients and can prevent inflammatory or oxidation-related diseases.
Ultraviolet (UV) and non-thermal plasma functionalization are surface treatment modalities that seem able to improve osseointegration. selleck inhibitor The aim of this systematic review and meta-analysis is to assess the effect of the two methods and possible differences.
The systematic research of pre-clinical animal studies was conducted up to May 2020 in the databases PubMed/Medline, Scopus and the Cochrane Lybrary. A meta-analysis was performed by using the DerSimonian-Laird estimator in random-effects models.
Through the digital search, 518 articles were identified; after duplicate removal and screening process 10 papers were included. Four studies evaluating UV treatment in rabbits were included in the meta-analysis. The qualitative evaluation of the included studies showed that both UV photofunctionalization and non-thermal plasma argon functionalization of titanium implant surfaces might be effective in vivo to improve the osseointegration. The meta-analysis on four studies evaluating UV treatment in rabbits showed that bone to implant contact values (expressed as standardized mean differences and raw mean differences) were significantly increased in the bio-activated groups when follow-up times were relatively homogeneous, although a high heterogeneity (
> 75%) was found in all models.
The present systematic review and meta-analysis on pre-clinical studies demonstrated that chair-side treatment of implants with UV or non-thermal plasma appear to be effective for improving osseointegration. This systematic review supports further clinical trials on this topic.

This paper studies the influence of noise on monocular feature-based visual Simultaneous Localization and Mapping (SLAM). First, an open-source synthetic dataset with different noise levels is introduced in this paper. Then the images in the dataset are denoised using the Fast and Flexible Denoising convolutional neural Network (FFDNet); the matching performances of Scale Invariant Feature Transform (SIFT), Speeded Up Robust Features (SURF) and Oriented FAST and Rotated BRIEF (ORB) which are commonly used in feature-based SLAM are analyzed in comparison and the results show that ORB has a higher correct matching rate than that of SIFT and SURF, the denoised images have a higher correct matching rate than noisy images. Next, the Absolute Trajectory Error (ATE) of noisy and denoised sequences are evaluated on ORB-SLAM2 and the results show that the denoised sequences perform better than the noisy sequences at any noise level. Finally, the completely clean sequence in the dataset and the sequences in the KITTI dataset are denoised and compared with the original sequence through comprehensive experiments. For the clean sequence, the Root-Mean-Square Error (RMSE) of ATE after denoising has decreased by 16.75%; for KITTI sequences, 7 out of 10 sequences have lower RMSE than the original sequences. The results show that the denoised image can achieve higher accuracy in the monocular feature-based visual SLAM under certain conditions. The paper describes and presents a new calculation strategy for the determination of the aircraft’s resultant position using the GPS (Global Positioning System) SPP (Single Point Positioning) code method. The paper developed a concept of using the weighted average model with the use of measuring weights to improve the quality of determination of the coordinates and accuracy of GPS SPP positioning. In this research, measurement weights were used as a function of the number of GPS satellites being tracked, and geometric PDOP (Position Dilution of Precision) coefficient. The calculations were made using navigation data recorded by two independent GPS receivers Thales Mobile Mapper and Topcon HiPerPro. On the basis of the obtained results, it was found that the RMS (Root Mean Square) accuracy of positioning for XYZ geocentric coordinates was better than 1.2% to 33.7% for the weighted average method compared to a single GPS SPP solution. The proposed approach is therefore of practical application in air navigation to improve the quality of aircraft positioning. Most previous studies of perovskite core/shell structures have been based on ZnO/TiO2 nanowires (NWs), which are not suitable for high photoelectric conversion efficiency. Here, core/shell ZnO/TiO2 NWs with AgCl-doped CdSe quantum dots were fabricated as an electron transport layer (ETL) for perovskite solar cells, based on ZnO/TiO2 arrays. We designed CdSe with AgCl dopants that were synthesized by a colloidal process. An improvement of the recombination barrier (Rct1), due to shell supplementation with AgCl-doped CdSe quantum dots, improved the open circuit voltage, the fill factor, and the adsorption capacity of CH3NH3PbI3 perovskite with NWs. The enhanced cell steady state was attributable to TiO2 with AgCl-doped CdSe QD supplementation. A maximum power conversion efficiency of 15.12% was attained in an atmospheric environment. The mechanism of the recombination and electron transport in the perovskite solar cells becoming the basis of ZnO/TiO2 core/shell arrays was investigated to represent the merit of ZnO/TiO2 core/shell arrays as an electron transport layer in effective devices.
